iread begins.

Alright, well done.

If you have got this far then you must be at least a little bit interesting. This is a website for students at Fir Vale who read and have somthing to say.

That's it.

You don't need to hand this stuff in, no-one's going to mark it or make you type it out again. You are not going to get told off if you say that you don't like somthing or criticised for what you do like. No-one here cares if it's a comic or a manga; if you read somthing on the net, in a magazine or on the side of a bus then that's fine- you just need somthing interesting to say.

Somthing that you really mean, that you care about or you want to share with the world.

Nothing insulting and nothing personal but absolutely anything else.

So, what have you been reading?
What have you got to say?

  1. I've been reading some batman and just found out he died!

if his death is permanent who do you think will be the batman because gotham needs it's hero.

  2. turns out batman's not dead. he's just been hit by omega beams which sent him to live alternate versions of his life.
but the thing is he can still never return to his original life. therefore the question still stands; who will bw the next batman?

p.s. it can't be the original robin(dick grayson) or alfred the butler. there is a new robin (tim drake) who bruce wayne adopted as his son but i'm not very convinced he could handle the stress of being the batman as he has always been a sidekick and would find it hard fighting the nutcases in gotham on his own. he is also loved by Bruce wayne who i think would waver at letting him go up against complete nutcases like the joker and alfred the butler would know.
but thats just what i think.

  8. just finished house of m and all i have to say about it is that it is blooody awsome.
it is better than civil war and surpasses its many other competitors with it's exciting and invigorating plotline. there are less characters which therefore makes the story easier to follow. the potential of the strange mutant girl layla (at least she was strange to me as before this i just really had no idea what she could do, althouhg in civil war xmen universe i seemed to get the idea that she could see the future) is revealed and is is shown to all the world as a powerful telepath who isnt a telepath as emma frost describes her.

in house of m uncanny x-men, captain britain (yes this is a very corny name that i am displeased with and one opinion i have is that britain isnt the kind of place you would associate a serious superheroe matter with, well at least to me) is shown to be a true and powereful heroe who has power that i think is almost equal to that of cyclops.

luke cage is also a proven heroe who is a born leader with the ability to inspire saps everywhere. this is a joke you would get from reading house of m, if you wont read it because of what i have written then read it for the understanding of this joke and maybe youll get drawn in.

  9. I've just finished 'change of heart' by Jodi Picoult. It's interesting because it's about a man on deaths row wanting to give his heart to the daughter of the man he killed daughter... and the young girl he killed sister, who was unborn at the time of their deaths.
What i found most annoying was the streotypes Picolt portrayed through it. There's a character whom is Gay and in Prison for killing his ex partner, this man has Aids and the concepts she puts through about him are too stereotypical of him for my likeing.

However she is talented in coming up with very unexpected endings and challenging the reader on what they would do under the same challenges, would they take the heart? is it right for a man to be on deaths row?

Personally i dont aggree with the Death Penlty, for a few reasons, it's an easy way out for the prisioner, and yes it cost tax to pay for prisioners, but it also costs tax to build and maintaine a death chamber. Which brings us back to Schools thoughts for the week, budda and his teachings, ironic hey?!

    Reading Animal Farm now.

  12. HI THIS IS ISSARAR FINISHED HOUSE OF M AND IT IS ONE OF THE BEST COMIC BOOK SERIES I HAVE EVER READ. IT HAS A FANTASTIC STORYLINE AND LOTS OF TWISTS WHICH MAKE IT INTERESTING AND INVIGORATING. IT ALSO HAS CONSISTENCY WHICH I THOUGHHT CIVIL WAR LACKED. THERE WERE CERTAIN PARTS IN CIVIL WAR SUCH AS YOUNG AVENGERS WHICH I FOUND RATHER BORING. THE SAME CANNOT BE SAID ABOUT HOUSE OF M AS IT HAS INTERESTING STORYLINES AND PLOTS ALL THE WAY.
SECONDLY, THE ARTWORK IS ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. SOME OF THE CHARACTER FOCUSES WHICH ARE DRAWN SUCH AS THE PICTURE OF HAWKEYE SHOOTING HIS ARROWS ARE INCREDIBLY DETAILED. THE ARTWORK IN CIVIL WAR IS GOOD BUT IT IS NOTHING COMPARED TO THE ARTWORK IN HOUSE OF M. FANTASTIC.

  13. Hi this issarar. I have recently read Palestine by Joe Sacco. This is one the most interesting books i have read with a unique style of artwork which adds to the effect of it being so interesting. It is a factual account of the writers experience in Palestine but in comic book form. It shows the pain, anger, love, and emotion of the people to provide a fantatsic view of Palestine and its people to its audience. Stories from the book bring tears to eyes or can provide some comic relief. This is a very unique piece of literature showing the story of the people to the world. It is also probably the best piece of literature to do with politics. It is most suited to those interested in politics but is definitely worth reading.

  14. Hi this is issarar. Want to say thanks Mr T for lending me the new batman and robin. I really enjoyed it. Dick grayson as Batman will definitely be interesting to follow. I think he probably bring comic relief to the new series which Bruce Wayne very rarely or never did. Damian seems like an interesting character. He definitely got his fathers assertiveness and almost his dark side. From what I've read it seems like he has a big attitude problem. I wonder if he got his grandfathers (ra's al ghul) evil or villianous side. We'll have to see.
