WELCOME ONE AND ALL.

Hey guys, I've moved some longer posts out of the comments and made them posts of their own. Some brilliant stuff about a huge range of groovy goodness.

It really helps me out if, when you start a new topic, you email it to me. Use the comments for responding to other people. Anyway- there is a bunch of good stuff below.

I'm halfway through reading "The Plot Against America" by Philip Roth. So far it's really good but REALLY REALLY bleak. I'll let you know when I finish.

MAYDA opens up the evolution debate...

so in my spanish class we were discussin things like evolution....n i have 1 question 2 ask....mr.T. said there are some animals that dont need to evolve (monkeys) because their are fine the way they are...do u guys think we(humans)will continue to evolve or stay the way we are...????CONFUSED.COM

ROSE with a nicely balanced review.

I've just finished 'change of heart' by Jodi Picoult. It's interesting because it's about a man on deaths row wanting to give his heart to the daughter of the man he killed daughter... and the young girl he killed sister, who was unborn at the time of their deaths. What i found most annoying was the streotypes Picolt portrayed through it. There's a character whom is Gay and in Prison for killing his ex partner, this man has Aids and the concepts she puts through about him are too stereotypical of him for my likeing. However she is talented in coming up with very unexpected endings and challenging the reader on what they would do under the same challenges, would they take the heart? is it right for a man to be on deaths row? Personally i dont aggree with the Death Penlty, for a few reasons, it's an easy way out for the prisioner, and yes it cost tax to pay for prisioners, but it also costs tax to build and maintaine a death chamber. Which brings us back to Schools thoughts for the week, budda and his teachings, ironic hey?!

LUKE on comics.

just finished house of m and all i have to say about it is that it is blooody awsome.it is better than civil war and surpasses its many other competitors with it's exciting and invigorating plotline. there are less characters which therefore makes the story easier to follow. the potential of the strange mutant girl layla (at least she was strange to me as before this i just really had no idea what she could do, althouhg in civil war xmen universe i seemed to get the idea that she could see the future) is revealed and is is shown to all the world as a powerful telepath who isnt a telepath as emma frost describes her. in house of m uncanny x-men, captain britain (yes this is a very corny name that i am displeased with and one opinion i have is that britain isnt the kind of place you would associate a serious superheroe matter with, well at least to me) is shown to be a true and powereful heroe who has power that i think is almost equal to that of cyclops. luke cage is also a proven heroe who is a born leader with the ability to inspire saps everywhere. this is a joke you would get from reading house of m, if you wont read it because of what i have written then read it for the understanding of this joke and maybe youll get drawn in

BARBARA AND GRACE go to war.

Grace and I are both reading these 2 books which are similary in some ways and different in other ways. Im reading 'The Wasp Factory' by Iain Banks while she is reading 'The Bell Jar' by Sylvia Plath. Stay tuned while we discuss about these two great books. :D

iread begins.

Alright, well done.

If you have got this far then you must be at least a little bit interesting. This is a website for students at Fir Vale who read and have somthing to say.

That's it.

You don't need to hand this stuff in, no-one's going to mark it or make you type it out again. You are not going to get told off if you say that you don't like somthing or criticised for what you do like. No-one here cares if it's a comic or a manga; if you read somthing on the net, in a magazine or on the side of a bus then that's fine- you just need somthing interesting to say.

Somthing that you really mean, that you care about or you want to share with the world.

Nothing insulting and nothing personal but absolutely anything else.

So, what have you been reading?
What have you got to say?
